I certainly don't think that you need to know someone a long time to know that they are for you. My husband and I were close right away and gave each other rings for Christmas three months after meeting. I have become close friends with people in short periods of time also. The problem that I have had is that if you are subject to these intense immediate emotional attatchments is that sometimes you can be wrong and will get hurt badly. I need to talk to someone first for at least an hour as well. Appearences can be deceiving.
