you're right, it is totally yupped out. and it's a shame, it's like the only neighborhood in houston that is structured on a pedestrian scale. the only place where cars don't have dominance.

i used to drink with this telephone company guy when i lived out there. he had lived in montrose since he came there as a teen from a smaller texas town.

we'd drive around getting high and he'd show me where all the cool, hip spots USED to be.

it was like a mobile oral history tour.

that was one cool motherfucker.
