199. Since you're both a writer and a Vanity Fair reader...

...how about a few (admittedly random and self-picked) questions from the Proust Questionnaire:

Your most marked characteristic?

Who are your heroes in real life? In fiction?

What is your present state of mind?

What do you most value in your friends?

My answers:

Abundant physical and mental energy, although coupled with disdain for traditional exercise.

Real life living hero is John Stockton, real life deceased hero is George Harrison, fictional heroine is Scarlett O'Hara (I can explain!)

My present state of mind is overall contentment but coupled with preoccupation of completing tasks on ongoing to-do list.

I value reason, levelheadedness, the ability to think for oneself, a sense of humor, and eclectic, unconventional, unfashionable tastes.

I'm an open book for the most part, and as we say in the Lounge, "Ask me anything!" Pick any Proust questions you'd like me to answer from this page here.

edited for the spelling errors I usually make because I hit enter too quickly.
