I imagine the story told by a guy at a bar. He's telling a woman this story because he thinks she's a mark & he's intimidated by other men:

Four that wanna own me, two that wanna stone me, one says she’s a friend of mine. I'm a guy who likes the road. I have to break a few hearts on my journey. I'm a good guy, though. There was this girl in a flatbed ford who chased me plumb across the country.
