Hey, maybe WE should go to Aurora, too!

Bush to visit Aurora for transportation bill signing

WASHINGTON -- President Bush will take a break from his vacation in Texas next week to sign the $286.5 billion transportation bill in Aurora, the largest town in the north-central Illinois congressional district of House Speaker Dennis Hastert.

The visit is scheduled for Wednesday, Hastert's spokesman Ron Bonjean said Friday.

In addition to signing legislation that promises to bring billions of dollars to Illinois over the next five years, Bush also plans to visit a nearby Caterpillar Inc. plant, Bonjean said.

Messages left seeking comment from the White House and Caterpillar were not immediately returned Friday.

Hey, I'm game! Who wants to go! Let's carpool; I can fit five people in my crappy little car.

Edit: Does anyone have any contacts in Chicago with groups who might be headed down there?
