1. I worked on the campaign locally
in my red state in my red precinct (Woodbridge, VA) and there was no question that Republicans were very popular there. Bush carried the state. We actually did get a Democratic woman into Congress though. And local politicians who are Democratic but popular still do well.

Actually I see your point here and yes, I think the country was about equally divided like it is now. The difference is we were not at war and 9/11 hadn't happened.

My precinct in Woodbridge - same town, different precinct - went blue this time, as did my old precinct. In fact, Woodbridge is becoming increasingly blue.

All we have to do is work precinct by precinct and it will add up in 2008 - if we refuse to let them steal it.
