and no more far-fetched than many others I've heard.

Certainly the BFEE has lots of practice at organizing coups, foreign and domestic.
And about that 7% investment in the US economy by Saudi interests. If US _really_ wanted to minimize backblow from its possible withdrawal, a pre-emptive freezing of all Saudi assets could do it.

Against this argument--there's a lot of evidence that the PNAC lust to invade Iraq goes back way before *'s taking over the White House.

And as pointed out in F9/11, that whole gang is buddy-buddies with the House of Saud. Blood may be thicker than water, but money plus oil make an even thicker, viscous (or do I mean vicious?) mess.

On the third hand, by invading Iraq, Bush* gave Osama what he _says_ he most wanted: US troops out of Saudi Arabia.

Hmmmm. . .
