164. I don't think anyone would have thought she was full of crap
without all the evidence that she was full of crap. I don't think people on DU as a matter of course just dismiss women's claims of being attacked. It wasn't just the photo. The whole thing didn't add up. There was absolutely nothing wrong with calling that out, and in fact, there would have been everything wrong with taking her word for it in the face of all that evidence that things didn't add up. Innocent people can end up getting arrested. In this particular case, campaigns can end up getting wrongly smeared. Votes can get lost. I'm sure the police would have come to the conclusion they did anyway, even without the posts on DU, but I still think DUers were right on the money. Just as the Pittsburgh police were. Things didn't add up. It was obvious. There was absolutely nothing wrong with bringing attention to that. Nothing.
