3. When I first saw that commercial...
...the only thing that bugged me about it was the cross-marketing of MNF and "Desperate Housewives". (I'm just burned out on all kinds of marketing). When I saw that the commercial had turned into a controversy and was being reported on day after day, I thought to myself, "Oh, now I know why". The guy who wrote this column may very well be a racist but I suspect that his attitude is shared by an unfortunate number of others and is at the heart of why this whole thing became a "controversy" to begin with.
