17. Mr. Byrd most definitely deserves it
He is an example of a strong red state democrat. While many others have caved in and sold their souls for partisanship above constituency, he has stood his ground, voting against a reckless war when it was very unpopular to do so.

I guess being an anti-war legislator isn't such a hurtful thing after all and I wish everyone had the spine to oppose the Bush doctrine.
