HARTFORD, Conn. -- For Ned Lamont, it's all about Iraq. Again.

{snip}

Lamont, 52, has drawn supportive crowds at college campuses where the war is front and center. He backs a deadline of about 12 to 18 months for withdrawing troops from Iraq. Lieberman says prematurely withdrawing troops would be disastrous.

"The war is really the major thing for me," said Becky Rushford, 26, a registered Democrat and student who came out to see Lamont last month at Eastern Connecticut State University. "I see him making more efforts to tap into young voters, way more than Lieberman."

Clay Colt, a Democrat who runs a mail order business, was impressed by Lamont's push for change, not just on the war, but across the board.

"The appeal is that he has fresh ideas and he's willing to take a stand to change things," said Colt. "We need a choice and a change."
