8. A couple of questions:
- If this law passes, does it render moot any lawsuits challenging the original law? I wonder because if it does, does it therefore in effect create the precedent that the MCA was Constitutional? If the original law passed and was signed, and it was corrected by an amendment to that law without the legal ruling, it seems it COULD be used in future attempts to weaken or eliminate habeus corpus. I wonder if it isn't better to challenge this legally and get a court decision, assuming we believe that the court can't find it Constitutional.

- Won't Bush just do a "signing statement" if he doesn't like this? Should that be addressed at the same time?
