If I ran hillaryis44.org, I'd be damn sure that there was a way for the official campaign to credit me for donations. I'd tell them to look for contributions ending in .44 and let them know that was through me. And, since contributions are public, I'd also check and see just how many ended in .44 myself to pat myself on the back and blow my own horn.

Now, if the Clinton campaign was indeed linked to hillaryis44.org, then they wouldn't need to designate a contribution coming from this site in any special way - they could just look at the links and clicks themselves and tell exactly how many came through hillaryis44.org. They'd have it all right there in front of them already.
