If Obama wants to fight back against the Hillary Monster without getting into a "knife fight" here's a suggestion.

Don't return her mudslinging with like-minded personal attacks.

TAKE OFF THE IDEOLOGICAL GLOVES. Hammer her on her longstanding corporate connections, her affiliation with the anti-liberal DLC, her role in pushing the country's political dialogue to the right.

Shine a light on how she and her husband and the DLC have UNDERMINED WORKING PEOPLE by aligning themselves with the "free trade" CON GAME. How they have either been complicit or actively supported so many facets of the right-wing corporate agenda of deregulation, castration of government, privatization and economic consolidation and Monopolization.

I realize that Obama is trying to be more of a unifier and hopes to get past partisan polarization. He's a moderate.

BUT STANDING UP AS A PROGRESSIVE POPULIST CAN BE TOTALLY CONSISTENT WITH HIS CURRENT MESSAGE.

Average people are getting screwed and they know it. Obama can make the case that real reform is necessary to deal with the reasons people are getting screwed. The trick is to acknowledge and legitimize what they already know. And show that there are real solutions in liberal and progressive policies.

IMO if he were to take the ideological gloves off, he can still be a gentleman and unifier he is trying to portray himself as. It's not that people don't want a fighter. They want someone who is a fighter on principle.
