I was referring to politics. Some of us here have forgotten that politics is a tough business and as many Democrats have seen in the past. inspirational and progressive candidates don't change Washington, though it is the most common political strategy (and we still by it) to "run against Washington." From a political perspective, I was commenting that the Rev. Wright issue is a problem because it has, whether rightly or not (I believe rightly), contradicted Obama. To the average voter this is a problem because, whether Wright is correct or not, people don't like to have their ills shoved in their face. That's why so many like Obama. He looks to the future with hope rather than harping on our divisions. When voters see Wright, they sense a contradiction with Obama's forward looking message. We cannot forget that politics will always be politics. Truth will always be truth, but that isn't always politics. Rev. Wright might be angry for good reasons. But when one is trying to get elected it is ridiculous to get angry when most Americans don't understand, or don;t care, that Rev. Wright was angry for good reasons. The informed citizenry that Ike called for does not exist. The Republicans know that and exploit it brilliantly. This contradiction between the tone of Obama and Rev. Wright, whether actual or manufactured, will arise in the GE. This is my fear. Sorry I ranted a bit. Thanks.

Edit: typo
