1. He earned a reputation for himself. What arrogance! While he was busy earning a reputation for himself, the truly great were busy failing. Failing gives people an opportunity to help you and that makes people feel good about themselves. Meanwhile, Nader was busy making people question the wisdom of their consumption choices. Nader was making people feel bad about themselves.
2. He decided to become politically active in a party other than one of the two major parties. Elitist! The vast majority of people cheer on one of the two big parties. Apparently the tastes of the vast majority aren't good enough for old boy Ralph.
3. He caused the Democratic Party to lose the election.
Here is a helpful analogy. Suppose all employees at some company get equal say in the decision of who to hire for an important job. There are two major candidates for the job: candidate A and candidate B.
Now along comes candidate C, supported by only 2.6% of employees. Now, the lunatic fringe will say that a good voting system should be able to handle the existence of candidate C. No, the voting system is perfect. The blame goes to candidate C.
The moral is: never apply for a job unless you know that you have a fair chance of getting hired. The danger is that the company will hire the wrong applicant! If the company doesn't sue you for throwing a monkey wrench into their decision-making system, then you can count yourself lucky.
In summary, Ralph Nader is obviously an arrogant elitist who should be blamed for the Democratic election loss.
