  • In a school board trustee election in Virginia the following year, the WINvote machines made by Texas-based Advanced Voting Solutions were also found to be malfunctioning. After the losing candidate complained about the voting technology, the machines were tested. And once every 100 times a vote was entered for that candidate, the machine would subtract a vote instead.
