The “Golden Rule” is less common.

However, this entire discussion is somewhat beside the point. As I said (for example) the legend of The Flood clearly seems to have earlier versions. The “Golden Rule” does as well.

However, does that mean that Judaism and Christianity are not new religions?

Do Judaism or Christianity incorporate all of the teachings of Taoism? Do their followers believe in a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taoism#Pantheon">pantheon for example?

Judaism or Christianity are monotheistic, but then so was http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoroastrianism">Zoroastrianism. Was Judaism simply Zoroastrianism? I'd say that it comes closer than Taoism, and yet, certainly, they are not the same.

Can a new religion be formed which incorporates aspects of older religions?

Is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam">Islam Christianity?

Is the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bah%C3%A1%27%C3%AD_Faith">Bahá'í Faith Christianity?
