3. I never really thought about it before, but...
Tony Kornheiser had a very good point on PTI - that things would be very different if Philip Rivers wouldn't have held out, because the Chargers were forced to put Brees in there. It was pretty obvious they were planning on drafting a quarterback to start right away. If no holdout, we'd have seen Rivers starting, probably having a bad to mediocre year, w/ a Chargers record of probably 3-9, while Brees' career goes into the toilet for failing to produce in the NFL. Funny how things work out. Now they've got a situation on their hands. Word is, though, that the Chargers have plenty of room under the cap to keep Brees, possibly with a franchise tag. Would they be able to deal off Rivers? They'd have some shoppers w/ Dallas, Washington, Oakland, Miami, etc.
