8. I don't think it was race

After all, they were one of the few schools to hire a minority coach. From what I've heard (internet rumors), some of the richer alums basically pulled a power play and forced the AD to fire him in order to get Urban Meyer. Willingham wasn't doing a great job (very inconsistent), but was no worse than Davie, who did get 5 years. IMO it was more impatient alums than anything racial.
