We have a great, and I mean GREAT, rookie in Nenad Krstic from Serbia.

The kid is 7-feet tall and aggressive as hell, atypical for a Euro bigman. He loves playing inside and driving to the basket.

Also we have Jason Collins starting at the 5 for us. He's not flashy, far far from it, but he's fundamentally sound (ie, slow as a tree stump) and does the little things it takes to win.

We need a starting Power forward because right now all we have is the afformentioned Veal Scalabrine. That's not good enough to get it done.

Putting Karl Malone in there for a season is a fine stopgap. Playing 25 minutes a night, we can get by with him. If all he has to do is rebound and play defense, and leave the scoring to Kidd, Carter and Jefferson, we can probably scare some teams in the East.

I think with a healthy Kidd and Carter and a servicable Malone, we can knock off Detroit or Indiana or Miami in the first round if we sneak into the playoffs.

Kidd is still the best player in the conference, even with Shaq in there.
