Not "used meat" but bread products...

If you pay close attention, you'll see that bread products - from loafs of bread to packs of hamburger rolls - all have either a colored tie or a plastic tag holding the bag together.

What you may not notice, unless you pay REALLY close attention, is that they are color-coded. Not that there's (as far as I can tell) any industry standard, but bread from one set of baking has a certain color tag or tie (let's say "white") - bread baked in another batch with a different expiration date has a different tag (let's say "blue").

So if you're digging through the bread collection and are looking for the "newest" (freshest) release of bread, just look for one of each color. All the ones with the same colored tag will have the same expiration date. What you want to do is find a different colored tag or tie, and check the date on that.
