98. i see it as the concept of "the lone woman."
it isn't women unity, solidarity. nor is it intuitivity, seduction, mystery, etc. it isn't the high priestess. it's the empress. it's the queen of hearts. it's the lone woman, broken-hearted, facing down the wrath of the entirity of evil and its perverse expression of "a man's world" (aka, bravado, arrogance, stubbornness, dismissiveness, heartlessness). and the weapon is the purity of meekness. what greater symbol is there of speaking truth to power and challenging its authority than a lone woman, speaking plainly her case and ending with a question?
when the currency of the day is power, she who is powerless is truly free -- free to give the rarest currency in the land, truth, and free to ask the most poignant question, "why?"

"katrina" is another to the list of lone women to me. the truth is homeland security, and the meme that bush's protecting us, and ended racism, etc is all a lie. we are exposed for all the world to see. we have become all varnish no substance. we are not laughable, but now pitiable. and the question again is, "why?"

the cycle isn't done. there needs to be more manifestations of this facet of reality. but straight to the heart it plunges, its aim is true.
