housestaff/servant. My job entailed taking care of his frail wife, baby, preparing meals etc. I was young and optimistic, even in a situation that I could not imagine living in now. I was also feeling a little arrogant for being strong and healthy while the higher born woman I cared for was weak, sickly and seemingly incapable of dealing or doing anything. I can still feel the dew on the grass and the dampened fabric of my skirt as I walked barefoot in the cool morning to the water pump/well at the camp wondering what man's future I would be tied with. It was a very vivid dream, as if I just stepped inside this girls head.
