I've never heard of anybody overdosing on sex (of any variety) and then going on a shooting rampage.

No, seriously, you're right. If it had been a female hooker, the issue would have dropped like a stone. Jimmy Swaggart was caught with female hookers, and, while the jokes ran fast and furious, it just didn't have the same impact the Haggard story seems to be having.

I see the hypocrisy (do I ever -- I keep a running list of these hypocrites), but the bottom line is that everybody (the media, and far too many Joe Q. Publics) is treating the "gay sex" angle as if it were a crime. It's hypocrisy to the highest degree, but it's not a crime. It can't be equated with meth use.
