I don't think the Democrats won because they were the "better" choice for most voters. I think they won because most voters didn't want the GOP to win. If we were making better progress in Iraq and there hadn't been so many scandals, the Republicans would have won. In short, I think for most voters they saw the Dems as the "lesser of two evils" and voted accordingly.
