25. Once again, the media was complicit in that
by "that" I mean the public not rousing to object strenuously enough.

I felt at the time, disheartedly, that the media just didn't have the stomach for more Constitutional chaos after the whole Watergate fiasco (which took years to unwind, you may remember). But that's not a good excuse, is it? They got away with far too much, and here they still are still getting away with their stuff.
