He's a groupie, tuned to the surface glamour. At this point, many Americans don't have to rely on people like him to see the falseness of the people he has idolized. It's so obvious it comes through clearly despite all the blaring of the GOP PR machine. He gushes and preens as if he's a fashion reporter interviewing a movie star.

It doesn't speak to well of him that he tends to catch on so late in the game and so often misses the point. Either he is easily fooled - and then in turn helps to try to fool others - or he is dishonest.

But you're right, I think. He's a groupie, not a reporter.
