It also supports my idea that the date is "skewed upward by the inclusion of very wealthy taxpayers."

The thing is I know this might sound corny but I feel like I am getting a bargain for the amount that I pay in taxes, getting roads, military, 'some' care for the poor, libraries, mass transit, police, courts, prisons, education, environmental standards (in theory), etc, etc.

As I said it's really the costs of just a few basic necessities that really need to be looked at. I personally feel everyone should feel secure in having healthcare and a home to live in.
