Here a large number of you are, crying tears over a drug-addled, gold-digging, piece of trailertrash-come-celebrity, but when a true hero dies with NONE of the fanfare, we get this:

Fuck those of you who raise the death of faux celebrity over the death of a person who has nothing, tries to do the right thing, and then gives his life in the service of his country and brothers in arms. Fuck you rotten.

Let me tell you about Navy Corpsman Manuel Ruiz. One of this 21 year-old's final actions before leaving for Iraq was to mail his little brother a birthday present. Then, he shipped out to Iraq...a Corpsman...a medic...one who's job it is to save the lives of his comrades and others who were fortunate to have him as the first caregiver in life-threatening situations.

He died today...21 years old. Probably making an E-4's pay. Bills to pay at home. A little brother at home, who now has to grow up without that POSITIVE influence in his life.

Corpsman Ruiz, from a fellow brother-in-arms, I salute you from the bottom of my heart and pray that you rest in peace. To me, you are true celebrity.
