Pet store dogs need homes, too. If they don't get purchased, they end up in shelters ... or worse.
I'd like to see puppy mills shut down, too - or at the very least, I'd like to see MAJOR changes in the way the operate and are regulated.
Once the puppy is born, they need a good home just as much as every other dog. The problem won't be solved by making people feel guilty for choosing one dog over another. People need to be educated about puppy mills and the over population of animals. Also, animal rights organizations should be working on ways to make spaying and neutering more affordable - not making animal lovers feel like executioners because they gave one dog a home and not another.
