lackey a triumph of the "little people". More a pacifier.

We were a century late in abolition, and even then, simply replaced it with the slavery of debt.

We threw off an empire, only to allow them to take us over through bribery and subterfuge. We had about 40 years of opportunity to become our ideals, and we failed.

As the "Raygun Democrat" this was a reply to pointed out, we are not the worst. I maintain that simply being slightly less heinous is not comparable to being admirable, let alone, the best.
