38. Football is a sport.

The NFL is big business entertainment which markets itself as sport. Pure sport is an end in itself, and once you throw in the million dollar salaries, it becomes degraded.

Nothing against football- but to me real sport is high school football or basketball before the days when the players cared whether anyone but their parents and friends were paying attention.
