GOP has mayoral candidate
As its candidate for Cincinnati mayor, the Republican Party will turn to a political novice with a resume that includes more than a year as an Army surgeon in Iraq.

He practices podiatry at Wellington Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine in Anderson Township. For 14 months in 2005 and 2006, Wenstrup was on active duty in Iraq. He served with the 344th Combat Support Hospital, serving as chief of surgery at the prison hospital at Abu Ghraib - the same prison where, in 2003, photos and stories of U.S. soldiers torturing detainees set off a national debate about torture that continues today.

But Wenstrup, in public speeches since then, has argued that there was more to Abu Ghraib than torture, saying the prison hospital was full of medical professionals who worked hard to save the lives of U.S. soldiers and Iraqis....
