107. Thanks
I don't consider myself disabled (not compared to many other folks; my MS is in remission but there are lingering problems) and would be loathe to file for disability. There are so many people worse off than I am who can't get help. My neighbor is an Army combat vet who served in Vietnam and his body so crippled he is almost to the point he has to crawl. His wife tells me he is in such pain he cries in his sleep. Yet he can't even get disability because the SS office said as long as he could sit in a chair he is considered employable and doesn't deserve disability. Believe me, he has been trying for three years now and his body become more and more crippled and racked with unbearable pain. When I see a brave man like that who served his country and yet is denied any compassion it makes me sick. This country needs to do some serious soul-searching.
