any more than just because your uncle smokes 2 cartons of cigarettes a day and live to 90 mean that smoking doesn't increase your probability of getting cancer. You can live an incredibly healthy lifestyle and still get cancer. Low probability events happen all the time. While there are negative health effects to taking THC, there are clearly some health benefits. Few life style choices are not without potential gains and losses. If one had cancer one might weigh the negative effects of THC much more differentially than if one didn't. Either way this papers result is pretty backed up in the science literature now.
