When you go to war expecting the enemy to just be polite and present good targets until the point they surrender meekly, then you probably also think Congressional Republicans will want to compromise.

I'll give our C-in-C some credit here: he's consistent...

Face it: we're making war on these people, and they're not just idiots or cowards. Many of them also know that they're in deep trouble if they lose, so they have reason to be tenacious.

The rebels have marched in unarmed crowds while carrying weapons and approaching military checkpoints. They've executed suspected mercenaries. They've executed 2 policemen expected of sniping. It's a mess. Civil wars are traditionally the worst of wars.
