As someone who works 60-70 hours per week, is married with two kids, travels for business, etc. I don't always have time to really understand EVERYTHING that is going on politically. I'm more dialed in than the average Joe but sometimes things are more distant. After the 2008 election I reduced my usage of DU and other sites due to work, moving my family across the country, starting a new job. I just wasn't paying much attention to this Tea Party monster.
