I'm actually British and I can understand Americans just not caring, he's not going to be your head of state. I can understand being pissed at the American media for giving the wedding blanket coverage but I'm also getting deeply annoyed at Americans who feel the urge to piss on our parade.

Just looking on this thread, we've got claims that having Royalty is inherently undemocratic (which is bollocks, our democracy predates yours); fury that the Royal Family are rich without having earned it (like that doesn't also apply to the Bushes, Kennedys, John Kerry and hundreds of others; at least the Royals pay taxes) and general nastiness at the marriage of a powerless figurehead that will not affect Americans in any way.
