Seal Beach shooting suspect Scott Dekraai due in court

The man accused of the biggest mass murder in Orange County's history is due in court Tuesday for a plea hearing.

Scott Evans Dekraai, 42, is charged with eight counts of murder and one count of attempted murder for opening fire at a Seal Beach salon Oct. 12 and fatally shooting his ex-wife, salon clients and employees.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for Dekraai, who will be represented by public defender Scott Sanders in Orange County Superior Court.

Dekraai allegedly was targeting his ex-wife, Michelle Fournier, over a bitter custody battle regarding their 8-year-old son. Police have said Dekraai contemplated killing Fournier, and shortly after his arrest told police, "I know what I did."

I have an appointment this afternoon with a surviving stylist who was there that day and lost long time friends and colleagues... my heart still aches. I can't cry... wish me luck.

1. Isn't he the TeaParty guy who the freepers were defending as they blamed the wife?

3. Yep, that's the one
In the arrest photos you can see his tea party license plate frame.

I can't bring myself to hate him. Hate is his deal, not mine. He's Karma's bitch now... and I hear she's not big on mercy. C'est la vie.

2. Luck to you and your stylist friend
I love Seal Beach, my Dad lived there just after WW2. My heart was heavy for you all then, and now, a terrible thing in such a lovely place. I'm sure you will bring light and love to your appointment today. Peace to you and all you see, JL.

4. Thank you so much...
It was a bittersweet appointment. I learned more about the event than I ever thought I'd know. My heart is heavy for him... please keep him in your prayers or your thoughts, whatever your thing. He's still living life one day at a time. We share a connection with those who were lost, especially the connection with his best friend, Victoria, who was my stylist for several years before he knew her. He said it was very good for him to spend time with me, and I felt the same... you cannot imagine what a massive energy Victoria was, and that space is empty.

We are in agreement that hate is something we aren't going to further in this. Hate is what caused this and it has no place in us.
