Romney Knocks Gingrich as 'Lifelong Politician'
Source: nyt/ap

"I think to get President Obama out of office, you're going to have to bring something to the race that's different than what he brings. He's a lifelong politician," Romney said of Gingrich. "I think you have to have the credibility of understanding how the economy works. And I do."

1. Pot calls kettle black, and lies about it at the same instant. Oh yeah,
he knows how the economy works to rip apart companies, ship jobs overseas, and sell the companies at a big profit.

In his actual long 4 year career in the one office he held, as Governor of Mass, the job creation rate in Mass was one of the lowest in state history.

2. Romney is a Lifelong Mormon.
In GOP circles, that is apparently drastically worse.

What is really worse, is that Romney is an off-putting, passive-aggressive, smarmy flip-flopper. I hate to point any of this out, because it sounds like I am defending Newt. Yikes.

5. In some GOP circles. Many Republicans love Mormons, as mostMormons vote Rethug faithfully.
No pun originally intended.

4. As opposed to Romney, who is a second-generation politician?
"Romney went to public elementary schools<6> and then from seventh grade on, attended Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, a private boys preparatory school of the classic mold where he was the lone Mormon and where many students came from even more privileged backgrounds.<7><12><13><14> He was not particularly athletic and at first did not excel at academics.<7> While a sophomore, he participated in the campaign in which his father was elected Governor of Michigan. George Romney was re-elected twice; Mitt worked for him as an intern in the governor's office, and was present at the 1964 Republican National Convention when his moderate father battled conservative party nominee Barry Goldwater over issues of civil rights and ideological extremism.<7><9> Romney had a steady set of chores and worked summer jobs, including being a security guard at a Chrysler plant.<12>"

Of course, nothing is wrong with having the father you idolize elected to three terms as Governor. And nothing is wrong with being in politics yourself most of your owb life, to one degree or another.

Unless, you are an insufferable hypocrite about it.
