Disparaging tweet about Gov. Sam Brownback lands Kansas teen in principal’s office
Edited on Thu Nov-24-11 05:35 PM by housewolf

During the session, in which Brownback addressed the group, Sullivan posted on her personal Twitter page: “Just made mean comments at gov brownback and told him he sucked, in person #heblowsalot”

On Tuesday, Sullivan was called to her principal’s office and told that the tweet had been flagged by someone on Brownback’s staff and reported to organizers of the Youth in Government program. The principal “laid into me about how this was unacceptable and an embarrassment,” Sullivan said. “He said I had created this huge controversy and everyone was up in arms about it … and now he had to do damage control.

Brownback spokeswoman Sherriene Jones-Sontag said her office had forwarded a copy of Sullivan’s tweet to organizers of the school-sponsored event “so that they were aware what their students were saying in regards to the governor’s appearance.

“We monitor social media so we can see what Kansans are thinking and saying about the governor and his policies,” Jones-Sontag said.

Brownback’s office discovered the tweet via a Web search for his name, officials said.

5. Since she has to write a forced apology when she clearly is not sorry
she should make it one of those non-apology apologies that politicians specialize in.

Something along the lines of "I regret that any offense was taken. That was certainly not the intent"

Never use the words "sorry" or "apologize" ;)

6. Dear Governor Brownback
I'm sorry if my tweet upset you, you small-minded, paranoid weasel; Sort of a non-apology apology.

8. If this bothers him
I hope he does not read the comments in the newspaper (hardly a newspaper anymore).

Hey Brownback! Yeah, it's me. YOU BLOW! * I don't write apology letters for my opinions and you CAN"T MAKE ME you touchy old wanna be dictator. You better be watching what people are saying about you and make plans for what you are going to do after your first term because buddy even your pals think you are overstepping. Yea, they didn't know what you were going to do because they are pretty dumb but they know now and they don't care much for it. So you little whiney SOB, quit picking on High School girls who know better than to feel safe or content while you are at the helm and find another job cause this one is not going to last.

9. This was a topic at our Thanksgiving dinner today
We all agreed that we would say "Brownback is a bully" in all of our posts, tweets and texts. Should keep his thought police busy for awhile.

One would think he has enough to do turning Kansas back to the dark ages. Guess not.

10. Shame on that principal
He should have told ANY organization to lay off his students for a simple statement of opinion. Even the Governor's office.

Mentioned this in another posting but the High School that she is going to-Shawnee Mission East is the same high school that Thomas Frank went to. He's the author of "What's the Matter with Kansas". Hope that they turn out more like these ones!
