Shouldn't Bush have treated the Flu shot shortages as a homeland security
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 12:05 PM by MSgt213
issue? I mean the guy who thinks about security all the time can't figure out that even if he has enough doses to cover his troops and homeland security personnel that it would be important that
employers who provide good and services to those protecting us need to have their employees at work providing that support instead of sick with the flu doing a time of war?

1. You must have missed the news, there is no crisis.
Tommy Thompson said so himself today.

2. Correct. An additional 100,000 deaths from the flu is just an aberration.

6. It was an easy mistake, what with the supply
of vaccine cut in half, lines of hundreds of people waiting for the short supply and doctors complaining that no plan is in place for a severe flu season.

Thank God we have government officials to allay our concerns.

3. Healthcare in general
In the U.S. is a homeland security issue:

Let's say a biological agent strikes a mainly low-income community first, people who don't have a regular physician and only go to an emergency room when they feel like they're dying. By the time they do make it to a hospital, where tracking mechanisms are supposed to alert the hospital to a possible crisis, heaven knows how far the disease might be spread.

5. Just another nail in Bush's coffin.
He's lost the seniors' vote with this one - on top of potential Social Security tampering and Medicare.
