The Two Parties are firmly intertwined. |
|
This was driven home to me when I read that Hadassah Lieberman has accepted an offer to become a Senior Counselor at Hill & Knowlton, the big PR firm. For who don't remember or simply do not know it, Hill & Knowlton is the notorious outfit that had a weeping woman tell a Congressional Committee after the first Gulf War how Saddam's soldiers took babies from their cribs in Kuwait and flung them from second story windows. It turned out that the woman was a daughter of the Kuwaiti Ambassador to the U.S. and was not even in Kuwait at the time this was supposed to have happened.
I am sure Mrs.Lieberman will have similar opportunities to indulge in fiction of the highest order. Why leave such tall tales to the Republicans?
It is also my understanding that another notorious spokesperson, Victoria (Torie) Clarke of Pentagon briefing fame, with the peacock outfits, also was drawn from the endless resource pool at Hill & Knowlton.
Pretty sooon all Democrats and all Republicans will be working for the same mega PR or Lobbying Firms or Ad agencies.there will be no need to have a Congress and, if we can get a few legal firms to take care of the work the Supreme Court is supposed to do we can dispense with government altogether. That would be the Nirvana the Republicans are looking for.Or should I call it the Rapture?

2. Welcome to the new, improved two party/same corporate master |

System of government. And sad to say, cash is what talks these days, not votes.
Perhaps it is time we started doing what the corporations are doing, buying our candidates. Gee, if we would get ten dollars out of thirty million people, we could buy ourselves a president.
What really needs to be done to combat this scourge is to reform, or even get rid of, the lobbyists. Also we need to make publicly financed elections a reality.

3. I used to disagree with this. |

My wakeup call came shortly after 12/12/2000, as the party of my Father laid down for bu$hler and the Supreme :puke: Court who elected him. Since then, the Democrats have fallen all over themselves to give the Boy King everything he has wanted.
Why is this? Is it time to follow the money? Or is it too late? What if the trail should lead us to a posh resort in the Caymans and we find Dems and Pugs gathered around the same table, laughing at us?

4. One measure of this would be to look at the millionaires and their |

wives that dominate the Congress these days.Gone are the days when our representatives were also people like us.Our current Executive, legislative and judicial branches have more in common with the people of mars than us.We simply cannot expect them to have any empathy for our day to day problems. I wouldn't even be surprised if they think we are the problem.

Paid lobbying of all sorts must be outlawed. Members of Congre$$ must wear uniforms, live in barracks and be prohibited from accepting gifts of any sort. All energy companies must be nationalized. The government must fund an Opposition News Network, dedicated 25/7 to presenting the opposing viewpoint, regardless* of which party is in power. Presidential campaigns must be financed with public money.
* If you are a member of the Arkansas legislature, please substitute the word "irregardless."

check out Quinn Gillespie, another DC powerhouse, that had key people from their company placed in both the Bush Campaign and the Kerry Campaign. Ed Gillespie actually took a leave of absence to run the RNC during the election. Then you will understand, that they are all in bed together and the fix was in, way before us regular folks ever got near a ballot box.

Democrats, for the most part, have not even raised a stink about the missing WMD's and questioned the rationale for the war on Iraq. They have also been silent about the deaths of civilians in Iraq and the soldiers. No one appears to have dared to attend the funerals of the soldiers or to call attention to the plight of the returning soldiers. Not one has challenged official stories. In fact, the opposite appears to be true. Kerry, Biden , Clinton and Lieberman are falling all over themselves to outdo the Fuehrer in supporting the Fantasy War as Paul Craig Roberts ( a dyed in the wool Republican, LOL) has called it.

all politicos are prostitutes. There is not a single one that upholds the constitution nor does anyone of them hold a fixed set of core values. They are but flotsam on the oceans of the people that they are to represent.
