35. We need a stay at home day
As most of you are aware, Sept 1st is designated as a "Don't buy gas day"

In my opinion, it will do no good to just not make purchases on a certain day while using just as much gas.

If we all stayed home just 1 day............all on the same day..........we may be able to do something about these insane prices.

Your thoughts?

43. I heard about something like this a week or two ago
but I don't remember where. That would IMHO be a great idea. In fact I usually do that anyway in the cooler months. Or at most just go to a very local restaurant and may be the bookstore.

That I think would make an impact. I'd also suggest the soccer moms quit chauffering around the kids to all these soccer/baseball/dance/karate/basketball etc., games/classes. Let the kids play in the local park, at each other's homes, etc. Get that picture perfect yard a little messed up with playing kids.

Gee I grew up just fine playing pickup games with the neighbor kids. Didn't need a bunch of adults around to cheer & officiate.

I used to teach karate to kids and never understood what was the big attraction to bringing kids as young as 3 to all these organized activities and spending bucko bucks on them.

But I guess then they'd have to beware of the homeowner's associations.

85. Where does our gas come from?
Pretty dumb question I guess--we're all going to feel this...but what are the chances our gas comes from Russia or Venezuela?

:(

93. It comes from a lot of places...
As of 2003, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, and Venezuela were our leading suppliers.

In 2002, Canada led the world in our sources of imports, at 17%, with Saudi Arabia (13.7%), Mexico (13.5%), and Venezuela (12%) in a virtual three-way tie for second. The year before the percentages were Canada - 15.4%, Saudi Arabia - 14%, Venezuela - 13%, and Mexico - 12.1%. Canada has been the leader since at least 2001. In 2002, US imports from the Persian Gulf region amounted to 19.8 percent of our total imports. The same year, a total of 40% came from OPEC member nations -- which include countries such as Venezuela and Indonesia that are outside the Persian Gulf.
