Do you know someone who never seems to age?
I ran into someone yesterday that I hadn't seen in 20 years. We were both 35 the last time we saw each other. He didn't recognize me at first, because I look like an old troll. He doesn't look ANY different, except that he's acquired muscle mass because he's been working out. Sometimes I get so pissed off at God! It isn't fair and I'm not gonna take it anymore!

3. I've heard from people
that I don't age much.

Of course, I see the lines, the saggy skin, etc.

Last week a college student (ok we can blame youthful ignorance) pegged me at about 28. I told her to add 10 years to that. I have good genes, it isn't anything I do except moisturize.

Ok, that is my vain post for the millennium. kthnxbai.

5. My kid--he just turned 18 and looks 14. (Poor guy...)
I guess when he is 60 he'll look 40??? (P.S. Dick Clark has now officially aged. We met when my kid was on one of his shows; he had recently suffered a stroke, but was still working hard as ever!)

8. I know two.

One is a former SIL, my best friend. She's 8 yrs older than me, just celebrated her 60th bd and doesn't look a day past 45. I look older than her, my hair began graying when I was in my late 30's.

Another is a friend of my daughter. He's two years younger than I am, honestly..looks like a kid. When I first saw him from a distance I thought he couldn't be much beyond 20. When he's up close, he looks at the most early 30's.

I don't know about the gene thing..my Mom looked younger than I do when she passed at age 78. Maybe I got my Dad's side. She had very few gray hairs and very few wrinkles. All the nurses used to remark about her youthful appearance.

10. Me.
I will soon have my 54th birthday but look to be 35.

I have always looked younger, when I was in my 20's I look like a teenager.

Now that I can get some discounts no one believes my age without proof.

18. I couldn't grow a beard until about the age of 23, so I was the same way.
Although I was kind of insulted when I didn't get carded at the local grocery store here... until I realized it was because my grandma was the one paying for the groceries, not me. :P

I've still got patches that don't come in. But around 23 it finally transitioned from scraggle to a very light patchy beard. And since then I've gone from having a '5 o'clock shadow' (not really a shadow for me, just scraggle, but you know what I mean) in about two weeks to getting it in about a week now. :)

15. Apparently my husband and I.
People regularly think I'm in my early 20's (I'm 35) and he's almost 40, but doesn't look a day over 30. We're very lucky. The chanting and human sacrifices seem to be paying off.

Recently I've gotten back in touch with two people that I knew in high school. Both of them, seperately, told me that according to the recent pictures I've sent them, I don't look like I've aged at all. I'm 33, so it's been about 15 years since high school. :-)

Now, I've gained 50 lbs since age 18, but I think there is nevertheless a measure of truth in what they said. I work as faculty on a college campus and am mistaken for an undergrad on a weekly basis. I think I just have good skin. It might also help that I've never been one for outdoor activities and I live in a very overcast area of the country, thus, no sun exposure to cause wrinkles. I also have never worn much makeup, and I've noticed that women who wear a lot of makeup often seem older than they actually are. I also have good genes except for the whole metabolism thing.

However, I don't have a picture in my house that is aging instead of me. I think I'm just lucky.

My husband is the same way - he is 37 and got carded regularly until just a year or two ago. I used to get carded for cigarettes into my late twenties, until I quit smoking.

30. Well, me.
I'm 35 and I still get carded for cigarettes (you have to be 18 to smoke).

On the other hand, alcoholism, cancer, and heart disease all run in my family. So the genes might make me young-looking, but they'll kill me eventually. :D
