I gotta tell you again -- you folks here in The Lounge make me a MUCH better person

Riding the bus yesterday late in the afternoon. Across from me is a sight-impaired
man (in his 60's or 70's) with a white cane and a guide-or-seeing-eye dog (I didn't
ask which).
.
He was also occasionally "talking to himself" softly.
.
Finally, I heard him ask softly, "Is it dark yet?"
.
I have a little hearing loss, so have significant trouble with soft-spoken people (DAMN
good thing Kali is my best friend :rofl:) PLUS I worried that he was indeed talking to
his invisible friend and that I was about to make myself vulnerable to getting sucked
into THAT world.
.
My IMMEDIATE thought. Seriously... "WWTLD?"

.
"What Would The Lounge Do?"
.
.
.
And without hesitation, I answered him. "Not yet, but the sun is setting and it
WILL be in about 20 minutes."
.
.
.
He smiled this WONDERFUL smile and we started talking. He had gone blind as an adult,
but before he had moved to Arizona, so he had never seen one of our spectacular
sunsets. I was able to describe all the pink and salmon and lavender and orange colors
that were so beautiful.
.
We were both star-gazers, and we discussed the similarities between the remote desert
and mountain areas of Arizona that had very-little-to-NO light pollution and his times
while sailing in the Pacific.

.
Turned out he was just a lonely guy who was casting out a little hopeful bait with his
quiet questions.
.
.
.
Thank you all SO much!!! You make me feel so good in so many ways -- many of which you
can't imagine.
