Need a tasty-new-fangled fancy-schmancy type martini suggestion... |
|
doesn't even have to be a true martini. As a matter of fact, I prefer it not to be. GIN SUCKS!Smells like pine-sol.

4. Of this I am aware, but since I have left the bar biz... |
|
it seems that there are a plethora of new vodkas and "martini' drinks" I want something maybe winter-y and maybe even holiday-ish. Sweet fruity minty maybe, but not a cosmo. Maybe a mint choclate tini? I dunno. Whateve it is I'll probably have to tell the bartender how to make it 'cause the places that have pool table and juke box arent usually up on the newest of fangled drinks!

2. Gin, Vermouth, Blue Cheese-Stuffed Olives. Not Dry. Very Slightly Dirty. |
|
Straight-up in a chilled glass. Go with the basics, and limit yourself to two, to avoid stupidity......

5. I've thought it would be fun to make a cinitini |
|
Pepperoncini juice, the booze, and a small pepperoncini on toothpick.
Just so you can say "cinitini"

14. I echo those above. A Martini is a Martini. |
|
I could pour some rum into a Coke and call it a Grasshopper, but it would still be a Cuba Libre.
By all means, serve whatever concoction you want in a stemmed Martini glass, but please don't call it a Martini. Some of your guests may be sorely disappointed.
Specialty mixed drinks have names for a reason. You order one, and you know what you'll get.
When I order a Scotch and water I don't want cranberry juice and vodka.
Sorry to sound pedantic about this (and beat a dead horse), but that's just the way it is.
The proliferation of so-called 'Martini Bars' where they serve chocolate and raspberry concoctions flies in the face of all that is holy to serious imbibers and gives me the jimmie-jams. :eyes:
