BULLETIN: GANDHI GOES TO HOLLYWOOD, CA

GANDHI GRANDSON TO LEAD PEACE PARADE IN HOLLYWOOD OCTOBER 28th

"Peace is essential. Whenever we can work for peace …and plant the seeds in the minds of people... we must do it" - ARUN GHANDI, 2006

LA'S HARRISON, FROM KTLK'S “HARRISON ON THE EDGE” LAUNCHES FIRST STEP OF WORLDWIDE GANDHI PEACE MOVEMENT

Peace Activist and grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, ARUN GHANDI, will be leading the way Saturday, October 28th at the inaugural Hollywood Parade for World Peace. Thousands are expected to follow the celebrated Peace Activist down Hollywood's legendary Avenues, starting at Hollywood and Vine and ending at the CNN building where A.N.S.W.E.R will host a rally. Afterwards, there will be a CELEBRATION OF WORLD PEACE AND GLOBAL UNITY at Plummer Park's Fiesta Hall, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd.

72-year old ARUN GANDHI was not only reared at his grandfather's side from revolution through assassination, but was also schooled in the full spectrum of Mahatma's teachings. His own children are now carrying on the family legacy, the promotion of World Peace and the practice of Non-Violence.

What began during a recent interview with Gandhi as a call-to-action for "One Human Family," by award-winning Progressive LA Talk Show Host Harrison of KTLK's "Harrison on the Edge" - has quickly expanded into a worldwide movement. Their hope is to launch a NEW ERA OF PEACE ACTIVISM. Jump-starting in Southern California, where Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were laid to rest, this will be the first of many Parades already confirmed around the Country - and around the World.

On Saturday, October 28th at 12:00 PM, thousands are expected to gather atHollywood and Vine.

ARUN GANDHI will address the crowd with his message of PEACE. Gandhi will then immortalize his historic first step in a plaster panel (in like tradition of Hollywood's Walk of Fame) towards the new Global Peace Parade.

Mr. Gandhi will be joined by Harrison and a growing list of supporters and celebrities; Mike Farrell, Sally Kirkland, LeVar Burton, Larraine Newman, Mimi Kennedy, and Filmmaker Aaron Rousseau. Special Guest Cindy Sheehan will be on hand as well, and many more celebrities are signing up as we speak. All are participating with the endorsement of "Harrison's National Brain Trust" - GoreVidal, Noam Chomsky, Kurt Vonnegut, Dr. Howard Zinn, Ed Begley Jr., Former NJ Governor James McGreevey, and Congresswoman Maxine Waters.

KTLKAM1150 is fortunate to be marching in a unified call for peace with The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition, leaders at the forefront of the Peace and Social Justice Movement. The A.N.S.W.E.R. Coalition will hold a rally at the end of the Parade Route in front the CNN building at Sunset and Cole.

Afterwards, join a CELEBRATION OF WORLD PEACE AND GLOBAL UNITY at PlummerPark's Fiesta Hall, 7377 Santa Monica Blvd. West Hollywood is opening the park between 2:30 and 5pm. There you will see a special video message fromSecretary General Kofi Annan, and hear words from Arun Gandhi, Celebrity co-host Hal Sparks and Peace Mom Cindy Sheehan.

Enjoy special performances from Chilean Singer/Songwriter Jacqueline Fuentes, The Balandugu Kan African Dance Troupe, The Yuval Ron Ensemble(Sacred Music of the Middle East), and Jonelle Romero with Red Nation. Plus,Stephen Fiske (singer/songwriter performing his Earth Anthem), Ruth Gould-Goodman (who will lead a Tonal Prayer), and the "Shumei Makoto Taiko Group" led by Steven Tokunaga.

The event will conclude with a ceremony honoring West Hollywood for their precedence-setting declaration as an anti-war city. West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman will accept a Peace Pole on the city’s behalf. Steve Nakada, Founding Director of the UN World Peace Bell Society of Los Angeles will officiate.
