We just covertly gave Hillary Clinton a "mandate" to continue to use destructive political tactics. Now she's still in the race, and Obama has just "taken his gloves off" as MSNBC reports. Man, I hope they don't tear each other apart. This campaign season is REALLY dividing the democratic party and we'll make the party unelectable, come fall, if the D- candidates keep lobbying negative attacks at one another. With Hillary Clinton also lobbying attacks against notable Democratic groups and figures such as Moveon.org, John Kerry, and Howard Dean. What she is doing is beginning to show a sinister tinge.
----------------- Date: April 21, 2008 Consider the way Clinton has run her campaign - with divisive, manipulative political tactics ,and even outright lies - do we really want her to win the primary, or then the general, with a "mandate" that affirms that what she has been doing is OK?
If she wins PA on the basis of her negative campaign ads, what will that tell her and other politicians with similar political aspirations? - Dirty political tricks will ultimately work in your favor and lying to the American public is OK. As we can see with Bush's presidency and his campaigns prior (which hinted to the kind of government he would run with his campaign's heavily Rovian tactics), these pre-presidential tactics set a precedent, or a "mandate", that the newly-named winner can than wields in front of the people of America saying, "This is what you wanted, so I'll use it again. . ."

1. I disagree, even if she'd LOST by 30 pts, she would still consider it a "mandate" to keep going |

just as the 14 military bases in Iraq are permanent no matter what anyone says or wants, Hillary's campaign is to go to the convention, no matter how ahead or behind she is, because they intend to strongarm pledged delegates in backrooms and steal the nomination regardless. that's their endgame, and they cannot get there if they EVER drop out, so she wont, even if she loses by 50 pts in every remaining state, she will not drop out.

Really -- have you ever considered writing for soap operas? Such histrionics deserves the razzie award for scenery chewing. :eyes:
I know -- why don't you FedEx Hillary the costume of the Wicked Witch, complete with the green makeup?
And we thought the freepers were bad.... :puke:

This is reality. The longer she is in this campaign, the worse it will be for the Democratic party. Whoever wants to deny that should find their way to Hillary's palace of Oz. I'm just saying... . I can't stand seeing our party divided, and its worse when it is for no apparent reason.
